Planning your honeymoon? Unsure of where to go? Take a look at these nine incredible honeymoon destinations for 2018:

Costa Rica

Crystal clear seas, sandy beaches and lush rainforest – Costa Rica is beyond beautiful. It’s also a great destination for adventurous honeymooners. You can hike wildlife trails, enjoy water sports on the beach and stay at unique eco-accommodation. A number of new luxury resorts opened last year so there are plenty to choose from.

Andaman Islands

India’s remote Andaman Islands are the place for honeymooning couples to really get away from it all. Only 12 of the islands are open to tourists so you can expect to have a stretch of white sandy beach and a rainforest trail all to yourself. Over the past year, more flights to the region have opened so it’s the perfect time to combine a mainland Indian adventure with a chilled beach experience.

Malta

Malta boasts great weather, beautiful beaches and a ton of history too. In 2018, its capital city Valletta has been crowned European Capital of Culture. So expect music, film and art festivals to accompany the country’s 300 days of sunshine.

Mauritius

Just the name Mauritius conjures up images of idyllic sandy beaches and tropical cocktails. Go diving by coral reefs, enjoy luxury beachside accommodation and head off on a romantic sunset lagoon cruise. It’s the perfect way to unwind after all of those wedding preparations. This year marks 50 years of independence for Mauritius and there will be a host of events to celebrate.

Alaska

In 2018, we can expect more flights than ever to Alaska. Cruise companies are also offering greater capacity and variety for travellers. It seems there’s never been a better time to enjoy the spectacular scenery and wildlife that the adventurous state has to offer.

Cambodia

Cambodia’s Angkor Wat temple complex has long been a must-see for visitors. But we can now add Sambor Prei Kuk to the travel wish list. It’s a 16th century forest temple that was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in summer 2017. As well as a historic sites, Cambodia also offers vibrant culture, delicious cuisine and laid back beach resorts along its southern coast.

South Africa

World-class wine, safari adventures and beautiful beaches – South Africa is an incredible honeymoon destination. Currently exchange rates are favourable so it’s a good value option too. And this year, the country hosts a Nelson Mandela Centenary with plenty of sporting and arts events taking place.

Australia

Honeymooners with a love for sport should certainly consider Australia this year. The country’s Gold Coast will host the 21st Commonwealth Games in April 2018. Beyond the sporting action, you can enjoy 33 miles of uninterrupted beach, tasty seafood and the wild (but very friendly) dolphins on Moreton Island.

Portugal

From the bustling streets of Lisbon to the historical fortress town of Sintra, the beautiful beaches of the Algarve to wineries of the Douro region, Portugal has it all. It’s also a great destination for foodies. In 2017, an impressive seven new Portuguese restaurants were awarded Michelin stars.

There are so many exciting destinations to choose from this year. We hope you’ve found some inspiration and enjoy planning that dream honeymoon.
