It’s wedding tradition to provide a thank you gift for your bridesmaids. And, let’s face it, they probably deserve a little something.  Your best girls will have come to dress fittings, worn whatever you’ve decided to put them in and listened to you talk about your big day, A LOT. A gift is a great way to thank them for their support throughout the wedding planning and during the wedding day itself. Here are seven unique ideas for thanking your bridesmaids.

Create a Wedding Day Survival Kit for Your Bridesmaids

On the morning of your wedding, give your bridesmaids a survival kit with a few wedding essentials. Pocket size deodorant and hairspray, tissues and plasters, a mini nail file, any jewellery you want them to wear and maybe a few painkillers for any sore heads the following morning. And don’t forget to include a little card or letter thanking them for their help and support.

Make it Personal

Whilst it may take a little more thought and time, try to get personalised gifts for each of your bridesmaids. This could mean the latest bestseller for a bookworm, a bottle of red for a wine aficionado or a session with a personal trainer for a gym bunny. A framed photo of the two of you together can also make a really special and personal present.

Treat Them to a Special Lunch

You don’t need to take your bridesmaids out to a swanky restaurant as a thank you. Plan a special brunch or lunch at home. Make their favourite cocktails, cook their favourite food and wait on them for the afternoon.

Monogram a Gift

Get your bridesmaids’ initials put on a pretty compact mirror or on a handy tote bag. Monogram matching wedding day bathrobes with your bridesmaids’ initials rather than emblazoning them with your wedding hashtag. That way they’re much more likely to use them again.

Pamper Them

A spa treatment is a lovely way to thank your girls. But, if your budget won’t stretch to that, give them a DIY pedicure kit with some new nail varnish or some bath products for a relaxing soak after the big day. You could even set up a spa evening at home, with face masks, foot massages and manicures. Provide healthy food and drink (or just go ahead and open a bottle of fizz!).

Get Crafty

A handmade present always goes down a storm. It shows that you’ve put a lot of time and effort into creating something special. You could knit a scarf, make your own pot of jam or put together a scrap book of memories you’ve shared together.

Think of Them on the Day

Show how much you appreciate your bridesmaids by putting them up for the night of the wedding. You could arrange for the photographer to get a few portraits of them and their other half on the day too. And maybe join the speech givers and say a few words of thanks to your super bridesmaid team during the reception.

You probably wouldn’t have got through your wedding dramas and joys without the support of your girls.  A unique present is something they can treasure for years to come, remembering both your wedding day and your friendship.
